The Limitations of Femininity in Tolkien's Women

I wrote this piece for my final project in Dr. Leila K. Norako's Science Fiction and Fantasy class, which focuses on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, at the University of Washington. The essay outlines the roles that Tolkien's female characters are limited to in his fantasy world of Middle Earth, and explores what these constraints might signify.
